What is a façade?
A façade is the outer face of a building, usually referring to the front part, where the construction is expressed through architectural design. The functions of the façade, taking into account the aesthetic function, are to insulate the interior thermally and acoustically, and also to be impermeable to water.
Composition of our architectural and semi-architectural façades in Barcelona
In order to install architectural and semi-architectural façades in Barcelona, it is necessary to take into account how the façades are composed.

Regarding the classification of the material of our architectural and semi-architectural façades against fire, we observe that the materials we use are classified with the codes bS1d0 and A2S1d0. These codes have a meaning which we will explain in the following way:
The first letter indicates the reaction to fire of the material in terms of flammability in this case is A2, which refers to a fire caused by a non-combustible material, without contributing to the fire to a lesser degree.
The second case is letter b, which refers to a fire caused by fuel with a very limited contribution to the fire.
Regarding the letter and number S1 it refers to the degree of opacity of the smoke, these are classified in 3 degrees S1, S2 and S3, in this case it is S1 and that means that the smoke emission and the speed at which the smoke particles are spread is very low, however if it is S3 they are spread very fast which would be worse.
Regarding the code d0 refers to the droplets or particles that release the material that is burned, in this case since d0 there is no droplet that will be released in case of burning the polyurethane, in case it is for example d2 if drops would be released that being in contact with people would burn the skin.
Finally, it should be noted that the materials used are both thermally and acoustically insulating.
