landscaped facades

Landscaped Façade Systems

To adapt the façade to the needs of each project, CoverEcology has a system that adapts to any type of façade. This factor is due to the flexibility of assembly of our green façades, where their lightness plays a key role.

Façade components:

For green façade systems, the base can be any type of wall, due to its lightness. The green façade shall be formed with the following products:
1. Supporting metal structure
2. Stainless steel channels for water collection
3. Perimeter frames of the area to be landscaped (by the finish)
4. Sprinkler pipes with automatism
5. Panels / planters

INSTALLATION

The wall formed by the base materials, also installed by Cover Industrial, will be covered with a tarpaulin/protective layer, on which the metal support structure of the landscaped façade will be placed. These are support posts for the planters and the irrigation system, mechanically fixed to the wall.
The planters shall then be placed from the lowest part of the wall to the highest part of the wall, together with the drip irrigation pipes, which shall be anchored to the system as the rows of planters are installed.
Once finished, the irrigation system will be connected to the network according to the project, and its proper functioning will be checked, which will be automatic, providing water and nutrients to the plants in a uniform way.
As for the maintenance of the system, this will be more frequent on façades, as it is a more delicate installation and exposed to damage caused by people (vandalism) or animals that may come from the ground.

MAINTENANCE

As far as façades are concerned, maintenance is essential to maintain their aesthetics. This is due to the fact that vertical enclosure

is much more exposed to damage than a horizontal one, and also because of its fastening structure.
To ensure a good functioning of the system, which is always irrigated, inspections should be frequent (3 times a year).
"Annual inspections
Check the condition and operation of the system and its drip irrigation system, remove weeds and leaves from the gutter, prune according to the chosen vegetation and fertilise in spring.
*However, it is recommended that the automated irrigation system be fitted with an alarm to warn in the event of a failure, for greater control.
"Post-installation fertigation
In order for the plants to take root in the new substrate, the façade should be watered with fertiliser during the first 15 to 20 days after installation.

Information on components:
"Irrigation system
- Drip: made up of 16mm diameter polyethylene tubes, with integrated drippers at approximately 40cm. The system is attached to the support structure of the panels.
- This system allows for greater water savings, as it supplies the necessary amount of water and nutrients for each plant.
- Uniform and automatic irrigation is created.
- Components: pipe with filters, connectors, drippers, caps and pressure reducer.

"Planters
The panels, which will be placed vertically on the outside of the building, will consist of pre-cultivated plants chosen according to the needs of the building site.
- The plants in question will vary between ferns, small shrubs and perennials.
- The substrate of the panels is fixed vertically thanks to the metal mesh that maintains the structure of the planter, together with a protective geotextile that separates the metal structure.
